Iris, Magda and Sue have professional experience and an interest in working with the variety of issues that bring people to counselling. We provide a supportive therapeutic environment and a confidential space for you to voice your concerns. We are experienced in dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions and losses. We offer a range of psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness strategies. We keep in touch with the latest developments in psychology, so that we can pass our knowledge on to you. We are registered with AHPRA, Medicare providers and Members of the Australian Psychological Society.
Iris has worked for many years with individuals who are experiencing depressed mood, anxiety, grief or stress due to significant change in their life circumstances. She offers a safe, supportive and professional environment for you to speak openly about your concerns and in doing so assists you in finding life sustaining ways of dealing with them. She draws on a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness Based therapies. Iris has specialised in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder and has extensive experience in working with individuals and family members dealing with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She is also involved in the training and supervision of Psychologists.
Magda is a clinical psychologist. She provides counselling for individuals and families across the lifespan struggling with all forms of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem and emotional problems, eating disorders, life transitions, grief and loss. Magda has extensive clinical experience in working with young children, adolescents and young adults. She also works with those who are facing challenges with chronic or acute health issues and the impact these have on their daily lives.
Magda’s treatment approach utilizes a range of evidence-based techniques including CBT, neuro-psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment based and systemic interventions. Her strength is in helping individuals develop clear treatment goals and providing effective interventions so that they can work towards the best possible outcomes.

Sue works with the variety of issues that bring people into therapy - depression, anxiety, adjustments, stress, family and relationship issues. She helps you to explore and clarify your thoughts and emotions, identify your valued goals and work toward relief and change. Sue uses a range of therapeutic interventions, offering emotional, cognitive, behavioural, systemic, mindful and practical ways of seeing and exploring. Most of all, Sue listens with care, shares your experience and helps you process your feelings and options. Sue has particular interest and training in relationships, supporting couples toward improved connection, communication, conflict resolution, mutual understanding and intimacy. Our clients are either individuals or couples struggling with a range of issues causing distress. Research suggests people can wait a long time before seeking help. After an initial session, our clients generally express relief, a sense of feeling supported and greater clarity about the way forward.

We each schedule our own appointments so you can speak with us directly, clarify any concerns and ask about costs before your first session. If you have a GP Mental Health Care Plan and a referral from your doctor, you can claim a significant medicare rebate, or you may be able to claim under the extras component of your private health insurance.
We are located at 17/3 Male Street, Brighton, near the corner of Church Street, close to the Middle Brighton train station. Our office is on the ground floor and our names are on the door. We have no receptionist, so if our doors are closed, please just take a seat in our waiting room.
